Toilet Seat Covers And Decorative Toilet Seats

There seems to be a question as to whether toilet seat covers should be left down when not in use or not. The English seem to have been raised to have the cover down when not in use while the Americans leave them up.

One opinion on the matter says sanitary toilet seat covers should be left down just like a refrigerator that is never left open when not in use. There are employers who leave a sign near the toilet that says 'keep my mouth shut please!,' indicating that the toilet seat should be left down.

In the presence of a study claiming that flushing the toilet with the toilet seat covers up are bound to result to ten times the number of bacteria spreading around the immediate area, leaving the lid down has turned into a sanitation issue. It also indirectly states that closing of the seat should be done prior to flushing the toilet.

One way of expressing the true personality of a homeowner can be found in his choice of decorative toilet seats. The bathroom decor can be enhanced with a luxurious feel or a whimsical one through plastic or wooden toilet seats, depending on its style and design.

Decorative toilet seats can take the form of auto close or soft close toilet seats. Auto close toilet seats come equipped with an infrared sensor, automatically closing once the user is out of its reach. Soft close toilet seats do not slam when shut, but rather slowly closes on its own with a gentle push.

Sports toilet seats, floral toilet seats, diamond toilet seats and leaf-shaped toilet seats are the other variations of available decorative toilet seats. Homeowners who do not wish to purchase a new seat can opt to have their basic toilet seats transform to decorative ones by trimming them with colourful ribbons. It is only the imagination of its potential users that sets a limit to the creation of these decorative toilet seats.
