Pre-K programs form the basis for the education of children and must be taken seriously. These institutions usually give children aged five years and below their first experience in school. They deal with very delicate children and that is why parents need to be very careful with how they choose which facility to enroll their children to. A lot of research needs to be put into researching the facility to work with. When in need of Preschool Oceanside should be visited.

These facilities may either be public or private. Usually, they hire educated and qualified teachers who can handle children from an early age. Teachers have to meet different academic prerequisites depending on where they would wish to work. However, as a rule, one must have a bachelors degree in early childhood education. Some teaching positions may require a person to have higher academic qualifications.

For one to work as a Pre K teacher, they have to meet certain academic qualifications. One needs to have a high school diploma and an associate or a bachelor degree for them to qualify to serve in this position. A Child Development Associate (CDA) certification is required in most states for one to work as a pre K teacher. One must accomplish a number of coursework objectives and fields for them to be granted a CDA certification.

Other requirements that are relevant here apart from CDA certification are state certification. State certification is an independent certification provided by the state and is subject to certain academic requirements. The state boards of education in individual states are responsible for administering state certification exams. A person also needs CPR and first aid certificates.

Pre-kindergarten teachers have very many duties and responsibilities to accomplish in the course of their work. Their key responsibility is to use creating methods such as music, hand-on learning, and art to instruct children below the age of five years. Children under this age are usually easily distracted and one must find learning techniques that keep them interested in order to learn.

Lessons that teach about personal hygiene and social skills should be part of the lesson plans for teachers. These programs aim at preparing children to face kindergarten life. Children should be made conversant with colors, shapes, and numbers. Major part of the program comprises of playing but it also includes reading and writing.

An individual should have a general liking for children for them to be successful in this work. They should be able to give children drinks and food, help them go to the bathroom, assist them to wear and take off their coats depending on prevailing weather conditions. The teacher also has to keep in touch with the parents of each child in their classroom. In other words, one must have contact information for every child in the class. This is important during times of emergency and important school events.

The academic progress of the children should be discussed regularly between the teacher and the parent. This should be done mostly when the term starts or ends. The facility should allow parents to visit without informing them in advance. That is why teachers should always be ready for parents.
