Two Prophetic Theories Of The Second Coming

While some Christians believe that Jesus will return to earth to take followers home during an event known as the rapture, others believe differently. For the most part, this event refers to the Second Coming, an event in which people believe Jesus will return to the sound of a loud trumpet in a cloud of glory to call followers home. In both cases, these beliefs are based on books, chapters and verses in the bible which most Christians believe is the inspired word of god.

Whereas, in Revelation 3:3, it is suggested that Jesus will return as a thief in the night, as such there are two, if not three basic theories and beliefs in this regard. For, there are other Christians whom believe that the kingdom of heaven is now and those whom have accepted and believe in Jesus are currently part and parcel to this kingdom on earth.

While some believe Jesus will return in a cloud of thunder to the sound of a loud trumpet, others believe the savior will return quietly and as a thief in the night. If basing these beliefs on bible verses then both are true. It is also interesting to note that the activities related to the rapture mirror those in the life of Jesus. For example, being born quietly of a virgin, dying publicly on the cross and ascending back to heaven to be with the God, the Father.

One of the most well known stories related to the 2nd coming is that of a poem by William Butler Yates by the same title. For, the piece indicates an event in which Jesus returns to earth in a powerful light. In addition, as the poem was written some time ago indicating the event was drawing nigh, it leads a number of individuals to wonder whether or not such an actual event might actually ever take place.

Christians of different sects and denominations have different beliefs as to when and how Christ will appear. For some, it is as a mortal man whom will walk among the living before taking followers home. Whereas, others see the rapture as shown in these paintings and poem in which Jesus appears as a spiritual figure in the sky and raptures followers whom then ascend into heaven.

While some Christians believe Christ will return in Spirit, others believe the Lord will appear in the flesh. For, there are both accounts reflected in the Bible. Whereas, there are others whom believe that Jesus has already returned to earth and walks among those still living today.

When it comes to people of other faiths, most see these bible stories as fables and myths which can used use for good or evil. Whether the inspired word of god or otherwise, there are a number of proverbs and psalms which reflect some positive aspects when it comes to living a healthy and fulfilled life.

Each individual must search for and find the spiritual truth in life. In some cases, individuals follow the teachings of the church, families and friends rather than searching on a personal level. Whereas, there are others whom can find truth in all religions whether involving the stories of Christ, or otherwise.
