Avionics repair technicians are specialists who deal with equipment in the aircraft and electrical system wiring that promote connections. The safety of an aircraft members is their main priority and that why they need to be highly experienced. The Avionic repairs experts set up equipment for passengers entertainment, autopilots, and radios, connect instruments for navigation, mount antennas and keep track on the working of the engine. The repair and the keeping of equipment in the aircraft and their proper working condition are called avionics.

In the helicopter, some avionics technicians troubleshoot and install aircraft equipment. They ensure that all electronics work in the right manner and none of them interfere with on board electronic devices. They remove and send a faulty device to a shop where a bench avionics technician repairs it. They do the work in most effective manner.

To provide good service in the aircraft, avionic experts should have abilities such as excellent skills in diagnosis and correction of aircraft faults, ability to operate on and using the complicated and highly sensitive equipment. The technicians remove those parts that have stopped working and take them to shops where bench technicians correct them. Bench technicians have hands that are firm and outstanding vision abilities for their good performance. While working with present circuit boards, instruments for magnification such as binocular magnifiers or microscopes are required since they are composed of so many and small-sized integrated circuits.

There are those avionic experts that work on commercial aircraft and are referred to as system trouble-shooters. They work on the relationships between different components of the system. They help line technicians to deal with difficult problems and provide an appropriate solution. Problem-solving is kept on all the time to avoid aircraft delay because its operations are based on time limits. This is because aircraft are supposed to fly after a short period.

As far as the safety of the passengers is okay, these technicians can work on those items that are time-consuming at night. Activities such as updating aircraft software, repair and changing of black boxes are attended to by avionic technicians as listed in an aircraft log book by the pilots. The duties ought to be carried out effectively to ensure operation is not delayed.

Compared to line technicians, hanger avionics technicians operates on a scheduled plan, and that is why they enjoy a lot of free time. A planner works out a working program based on the aircraft records and manufacturer new information. The period for each task and the crew to perform them are assigned and put on a schedule. Emergencies that arise can cause delays though they are managed on time by the working team.

According to aircraft equipment manufacturer, equipment contains their humidity and temperature conditions in which they operate. This is the reason why rooms in which bench technician work should be hygienic, aerated and ventilated and should contain cooling systems to keep their temperatures cool.

Furniture found in the office, floors, and benches of the bench technicians are made in a way that they can dissolve static electricity. Highly sensitive aircraft equipment is tested by use of screen rooms that prevent electromagnetic interference and are also able to protect the surrounding environment against strong radio transmitters
