Hot stamping is a method used in lithography and also used in dry printing in which a pre dried ink or a foil material is being used and which are placed in a surface with a very high temperature. This type of method is non polluting and was even used before in nineteenth century. Other materials which are also used are papers, plastics, etc.

In the nineteenth century, it became very popular for the making embossed book cover printing. This method may be also used for wire and cable printing such as a stamped wire. Foils and dies are the common tools in this method. The die may either be made from silicone rubber or metal and it may be cast or shaped directly. Dies can also carry high level details that are to be transferred and are shaped according to the surface of the material.

Foils are contained with coatings that are multi layered transferred to the material surface. Non metallic foils are consist of release layers, color layers, and adherence bases. The purpose of metallic foils is to replace the color layers with a chrome metallic aluminum or vacuum metallic aluminum. The color of metallic foils may be copper, bronze, silver, or gold.

Hot stamping machines are the main equipment during the processing of products. The first process that must be applied is heating and mounting the die, and after, placing the product to be printed underneath it. In between the die and the product is inserted a metallic or painted roll leaf carrier. A die is pressed down through the carrier and then the dry paint or dry foil will be imprinted on the surface of materials.

Machines that are used for stamped wires are very ideal because it provides clear and bright marking on the wire. The wires to be printed may be made from nylon, cross linked polyethylene, or Teflon. A hot stamp printing can be very durable and it is more similar to hot foil printing. And because stamp designs are getting more and more flexible, there are modern printers which are developed for allowing a very quick change in continuous hot stamps, print characters, etc.

The following are the four advantages when using this method type. First is having machines in high quality. These machine types help to produce durable and as well as clear markings to wire products. The newest technologies now already have lasers. The purpose of these lasers is to ensure that there is an exact number of letters printed even when wires have only small diameter.

Second, higher productivity. By the use of modern printers, companies can already do several productions of marked wires faster compared to using other printers that will make longer time in production due to some complicated ways in its installation. Higher productivity results to lower costs and which also means having higher profits. Products are also delivered on time to the customers.

Third is flexibility. It is flexible because most tools can be changed just in a few seconds. Adding some graphics, logos, and some other new characters can be done easily. This flexibility can also differentiate you from other competitors.

Fourth is turn key solution. Modern technologies now are being developed in order to provide problem solutions. Machines are produced with all the tools like the soft wares, components, and parts necessary for production.
