There are many benefits of owning a cdl. There are, however requirements that must be met in order to obtain one. For instance, one must be 18 years and older. Anyone below this age is not eligible whatsoever. Another thing that is really checked is whether one has been convicted of an offense or offenses that are disqualifying. When a person decides that they want to learn how to drive commercial motor vehicles, they must first obtain a cdl instruction permit. And for one to obtain this permit, one must pass the CDL exam. And just in case one wants to learn how to drive more vehicles, then the general exam about these vehicles must be taken and passed.

After one acquires a CDL permit, then that gives the person the permission to drive the vehicle of the class indicated on the permit. This however must be supervised by a licensed person. And the licensed person must be licensed to drive the same class of car.
