While it may be true that if you skip school, you miss out, a Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram Victorville, California, wants young drivers to know that they may miss a lot more. According to reports, Victorville Motors 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles has a program called It's a Fuel to Go to Class, a $75,000 yearly charitable give-away that infuses $1 million to the local school system. Not only has the plan boosted sales, but it rewards students with ideal attendance - as well as their schools - with valuable awards that contain two brand new 2013 Dodge Dart automobiles that are acquired via auction. Considering that work is a factor in California's state financing of schools, this car dealership program is naturally a big deal.

Dodge Dart giveaway prompts ideal attendance blast

Apparently, the It's a Gas to Go to Class plan has been very effective. Not only has Victorville Motors seen an enormous increase in the number of cars sold in the last 18 months as a result of plan, it has also seen a massive increase in perfect work at participating schools. The schools have also seen an enormous increase in academic performance and overall work.

"I had no idea how successful it would be," said 47-year-old Victorville Motors dealer principal Tim Watts.

A business that prides itself for its community involvement, Victorville Motors has elevated funds and backed events for several local organizations. When a local parent asked if the dealership had considered giving away an automobile, a light bulb went off in Watts' mind.

"It wasn't just about us. We wanted to do it as a multi-layered approach and an outreach that includes other local businesses," said Watts.

Promotion effective for sales

In 2012, Victorville Motors saw an enormous increase in car sales to 850 brand new vehicles and 756 used automobiles. This success is in part as a result of Dodge Dart promotion. There has also been an enormous increase in school attendance. Six school districts and 12 high schools are participating in the plan. There used to only be 15 to 20 kids with perfect work, but that number has increased to hundreds of students since the plan started.

If the winner is under 18, the car is awarded to the parent because minors cannot win vehicles with California law. The pupils who maintain an ideal attendance are given a golden ticket at the end of the year, so they can participate in the dodge Dart charity raffle. Pupils are also given supplemental awards such as gift cards for motivation.
