We always take care of our body every day, comb our hair, pay attention to every detail on the face but forget our teeth. Though many will say that they brush their teeth daily, it is not enough to warranty proper dental care. The teeth are very sensitive, and so it requires to be taken care of with a lot of care and attention. We will look at some ways through which you can take care of your teeth excluding brushing. Sugary foods form part of our everyday diet but if not looked into keenly can cause damage to the teeth. The small food particles accumulate on the teeth and excrete acid that corrodes the teeth. Another factor to consider in order getting clean teeth is by avoiding snacking constantly. Snacks normally come in handy when we feel hungry and want just want something light. Nonetheless, overdoing them can cause plaque to build up on the gums and teeth hence resulting in cavities. Therefore, reduce the amounts of snacks you eat daily.

Chewing less can also go a long way in protecting your teeth. It may be hard to do so bearing in mind that an enormous percentage of the food we eat, are chewed. Nonetheless, there are certain foods that overstress the teeth and pull off the sealants like sticky gums. Other like hard seeds, produces fissures in your mouth.

Flossing is not a new term since it is familiar to many people. It helps in removing food particles that are stuck between the gums. The toothbrush can remove most food particles, but flossing removes those that the toothbrush cannot reach. It is advisable to floss at night before brushing your teeth so as to have clean teeth.

A tongue scraper is also an important part of oral hygiene. It works great at eliminating bad foul as it removes plaque from the tongue and lead to a fresh breath. Moreover, it will slow down the accumulation of plaque on the tongue. Some people use the toothbrush to clean the tongue which also another alternative for a tongue scrapper.

Fluoride mouthwash helps to strengthen the tooth enamel. It is only used to rinse the mouth and should not be swallowed at any cost. It removes plaque that the toothbrush may not have been able to remove while you were brushing. You can use it to rinse your mouth before going to bed.

Lastly, visit your dentist at least twice a year or whenever you experience a problem with your teeth. Make a schedule of going for professional cleaning to a registered professional dentist. Your dentist will do a check up and give you tips on keeping your teeth healthy and clean.
