Many people work all their lives so that they are able to settle down and retire in a beautiful place where they can enjoy the rest of their lives. Ones such place whether one is retiring or not is Tampa Florida. It is near the Gulf of Mexico and the last survey that was taken in 2011 there were over three hundred and forty six million people living there.

There is so much to do that no matter how long a time one is staying one will never get to enjoy all the attractions. There are eight beaches that one can visit where the water is cool and inviting. If one is a dog lover the Davis Island beach would be perfect. It is a small beach where dogs can be let off their leashes to frolic in the water and sand. It has a picnic area, restrooms as well as a canoe launch and boat ramps.

This is a place where they have some kind of festival nearly every weekend. These range from the Sunset Music Festival to the Tampapolooza as well as the Tamp Bay Margarita Festival. There is always a large variety of foods to choose from and the music is just great. Many people will take a chair and a big hat and just sit on their lawns watching the festivals up and down the streets.

The architecture with most of the high rises and the renovated Tamp Museum of Art are post-modern while the city hall and the theatre are of the Art Deco. There are a few skyscrapers and about eighteen of the completed ones rise up to about seventy six metres. The tallest building in this city is the 100 North Tampa which has forty two floors and is one hundred and seventy six metres in height.

They also have Summer Camps during the warmer seasons with showers and facilities for fishing, swimming and volleyball. There is a camping site for RVs, as well as being able to camp primitive style. Its shoreline spreads over seven miles and many have travelled there to enjoy the outdoors since the middle nineteen sixties.

The cost of living in this City is slightly less than if living in The United States. They do offer health as well as transportation and there is always something to do. Many older people love the place as there are many different Museums as well as Theatres and Concerts that can be attended.

Hillsborough is one of the original parks and was created in 1938. The river is known to have a few small rapids. Also in the park is the Fort Foster which was built in the middle eighteen hundreds during the Second Seminole war. Tours are taken to the fort on certain weekends and there are many artefacts on display.

Picnic Island Park has a stunning view of the city and is about seven point eight acres with clean sandy beaches. Many people go there to fish while standing on the pier while others love to explore the Bayou. Shelters can be rented and there are grills, picnic areas as well as a boat ramp and canoe launch. This park allows dogs to run freely and there is a playground for the little ones to have some fun as well.
