A travel baby bed becomes necessary for parents making regular overnight trips to cot-free facilities. It be worth the cost instead to buy a cheap, standard cot should the baby be most likely to stay overnight somewhere on a regular basis, such as the grandparents' house.

Many parents find a lot of uses from a portable travel baby bed. For one, it gives them the freedom to stay almost anywhere they want without needing to worry about where their baby is to sleep. In the likelihood of visiting babies at home, it can provide the needed extra sleeping space.

The sides of a travel baby bed are clicked in place. Its handle is then pushed back down to keep the locked sides rigid at all times. Models that fold flat do not come with a bag. It also has the disadvantage of not folding completely enough to fit into the car boot.

Used as a travel baby bed, a Moses basket can be placed on the floor. An alternative to this would be buying a foldaway stand to place the Moses basket on and situate it next to the parent's bed. This will enable a parent to easily reach the baby in cases of night time feedings.

In lieu of a travel baby bed, a Moses basket is designed to provide a new baby with a safe and snug sleeping space. A Moses basket is usually made of natural palm leaf. It is light and offer carry handles for the movement of a sleeping baby when necessity calls for it.

If a carrycot is to be used as a travel baby bed, it might entail the purchase of a mattress more suitable for night time sleeping. Carrycots are not as widely available as Moses baskets. A carrycot that is fairly light must be chosen so there will be no difficulty in the movement of the baby while asleep.
