Different Kinds Of Heaters And Their Economic Value

What comes to your mind when you hear the term heater? Well it could be anything, right. There are various types of heaters, which differ in the way they work, their size, purpose and in many other aspects. Selecting a heater will greatly depend on the various types of heaters available that you happen to know.

First off, there is the electric water. A cold shower on a very cold evening bites, right? You need to invest on a water heater. Water heaters are basically made of a wire that has a high resistance that heats up when a current passes through them. Once they are heated, they in turn heat the water. Silica is used in water heaters to reduce chances of electric shocks. Go for a high quality and efficient water heater like the solar heater to avoid breakdowns.

There is the electric heater or the electric stove heater; they convert electric energy to heat. The resistance element is the metals involved. The way heat will be distributed will depend on the model of the heater. Electric heaters are fairly safe to use and they do not cost much as well as their maintenance cost is low.

Convection heaters heat the air around them then it spreads out to the rest of the room and heats the room in that process. Infrared heaters work by heating objects directly instead of the air while heat pumps work by removing warm air from the outside and taking to a cold inside and vice-versa.

Convection heaters are a type of heaters powered by a resistor that opposes the flow of electricity. The electric energy turns into heat and then it flows through the metal heating element. Convection heaters heat energy above them directly, the air rises and spreads out into the room. Some heaters such as the forced air convection heaters usually heat air through blowing air over heated coil using a fan. This air spreads out into the room and in the process the room gets heated up.

Another common type of heaters is the radiative heaters. These use aspects of much greater temps compared to convection heaters. These heating elements are enclosed inside a protective cover for instance quartz in a bid to stop heat from getting away. This maintains the heating unit at very hot temperatures. They are good in heating objects compared to heating air. They heat your body directly when you stay close to the heater. They are cheap and excellent when utilized in areas that need short time for heating.

There are also heat pumps that use a pump to drive a liquid through two sets of coils. This liquid is called a refrigerant. It flows through a condenser coil inside the house, where most of the heat is transferred into the air. This in event warms the room and cools the refrigerant at the same time.

This happens when the refrigerant gets decompressed in the evaporator coil outside the house. The outside heat warms up the refrigerant as it moves back to the compressor. It goes on in a cycle taking air from the outside and pumping it to the inside, continuously until the whole room gets heated. They are cheap, efficient and they provide both heating and cooling.
