The History And Services Of Funeral Home Smithers

This home was started in the 1950s under the ownership of Emerson family as an evergreen funeral home.Funeral home smithers would later, through a sales deal, change in ownership to A.F.Defrane in the year 1969.. This was to change later in the year 1986 when R. A, Allan Schraderas purchased it.

Change in ownership of the organization characterized its activities in subsequent years. Lowen Group bought the it from Allan Schrader leading to change in the name of the institution. The group would later sell it off to Alderwood after a short duration.

This company has been in existence for more than 60 years serving people within the same area. Several changes have been effected since it was established. Some of these changes include; space has been increased gradually over the years. A number of structures have been constructed leading to improvement in efficiency in comparison to when the institution was started in the 1950s. These structures include; a big urn selection room and casket, a garage, a 100 seat chapel and a prep room. Other minor changes include renovation of the top floor that was formerly a 3 bedroom apartment to be used as an office.

Smithers has therefore been in existence for more than six decades within the same location since its establishment. Over this period, it has undergone numerous changes that have significantly transformed it, most notably structural adjustments. Some of these changes include ;construction of more structures leading to attainment of more efficiency in comparison to the days of its establishment. Some of these structures include a garade, a prep room, a chapel and a big selection room and casket. Space has also been increased over the years to cater for increase in demand for services rendered here. Some minor changes that have since been effected are establishment of a office from a building that was previously a three bedroom apartment.

Allan Schrader, despite having sold the organization before, served here until the year 2011 as a manager. In the springs of 2012, he left to join his two sons Lawrence and Darren to work on their Kamloops home. He was succeeded by Paul MacDonald as the manager. Paul had worked in the funeral home claypton in Quesenel for many years.He had been its managing director since his retirement.

It is also known for its well experienced and qualified directors who are often described as personable and compassionate.Their services have immensely contributed to the efficiency of services rendered and maintenance of the resources belonging to the institution Words like: courteous, understanding, patient, caring and impeccable have been used to describe the services of this organization.

It offers personal and high quality caring services such as provision of prepaid funeral planning, cremation and facilities to all cemeteries.It also offers its services for twenty four hours in a day.It serves vast areas such as Houston, Kitwanga, Smithers, Burns lake.
